Day 27 of the 100 Themes Challenge. Subject: "Foreign."

So, I evidently have a very hard time being subtle but not completely obtuse. I would rather err on the side of subtlety in this story, however, instead of up and saying what's going on. So for those who didn't get it—Walter did not travel through time. Walter has simply forgotten many, many years. And he has forgotten that his wife passed away two months ago. He forgets every day.

I know that, for the sake of a coherent narrative, I am stretching Alzheimer's into something more like amnesia. He should have forgotten the nurses chasing him and such also, but I thought that would be too confusing. I didn't want it to seem like a crazy person's narrative; I wanted it to come across as the same narrative day after day as this poor man keeps having to mourn for the first time again and again.
