So hey! I'm not dead. But I'm only on here because of tag obligation. Uh...

So I did scan! But I didn't post. I should, uh, get on that.

*cough*

Moving on.

The darn tag.

I was tagged by this crazy cat: :iconcrazypsychomonkey:

According to the taggy-thing itself,

1. You must post these rules
2. Each person has to share 10 things about themselves
3. Answer the 10 questions asked to you and invent 10 questions the people you tag will have to answer.
4. Choose 10 people and put their icons in your journal
5. No tag backs
6. YOU MUST MAKE A JOURNAL ENTRY.  NO COMMENTS. Unless you're commenting about the actual entry.

Like hell I'm tagging 10 people though. I don't feel like making up 10 questions either. So, yeah. I'm fairly certain I've made up 10 questions for this very meme at least once or twice before XD

1) Favorite crack pairing?
I don't really do crack pairings.
My favorite totally-not-canon, would-give-the-writers-a-heart-attack-if-they-knew-we-were-shipping-them pairing, however, is Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo from Tales of Vesperia, because holy crap, do these Tales game writers just have no idea how to write a pair of male friends without inserting almost as much sexual tension as your average Harlequin romance novel?

2) If you had MAGIC HAIR that did absolutely anything you wanted (including facial hair, even for chicks), what would you do with it?
I would make the beard go away.
Then I would make the leg hair and the pit hair go away.
Then I would make the hair on top of my head either lie straight like I want it to or stick up into an imitation of Maleficent's headdress, depending on my mood.

3) Do you have a tendency to hoard anything, especially something you don't need (more of)?
Money? Wait, I need that.
Paperwork. I keep paperwork forever.

4) Roughly speaking, what does your dream house look like? how many people live there?
My dream house is a bigass Gothic mansion inhabited by me, whatever immediate family I have at the time, and a small army of maids.

5) Board games (Risk, Monopoly, Clue, etc) or card games (Poker, Hearts, Blackjack, etc)?
Video games.
Seriously, screw board games and card games.
Screw card games harder though.

6) It is the distant future and pretty much anything goes in the fashion world, from steampunk to renaissance wear, from hobo to super-anime (complete with extra zippers and belt buckles). what are you wearing?
Probably the exact same thing I'm wearing now: jeans and nerdy t-shirts.

7) if you could afford and properly care for any pet, no matter how exotic or large, what would it be?
A unicorn

8) do you keep a secret diary??
Eh, too much work.

9) if you could be reborn into any world, be it from books, movies, or whatever, which one would you choose and what would you do there?
So you know how long ago I made this ridiculous cult based around skittle colors with my friends? And how it eventually evolved into "the Elemental Knights" of Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Sun, and Moon? And how I had three friends in on it with me, but only three of the elements could be feminine (for balance!), so one of us had to be a guy, and I was the most boyish? So, you know, how I turned myself into a guy in the headcanon for this ridiculous story?
I want to be in that story.
I mean, I kind of also don't, because I'm a sadist and have put Aiden through physical, emotional, and psychological torture, but I've got this whole long timeline of stuff that happens in my head and if I could experience any of my crazy stories in person that's the one I'd pick.
…Despite the fact that that's definitely the one I'd be most likely to wish I weren't in, if I were.
Hey, I haven't totally decided if it's official headcanon that Aiden gets his right eye scooped out with a jagged spoon!
what the hell is wrong with me

10) SING ME THE SONG OF YOUR PEOPLE
IIIIIIIIIII'M bringing home a baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me! I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, OW WHAT THE FUCK YOU STUPID FUCKING BEE OH MY GOD WELL FUCK YOU I'M GOING TO SQUISH YOU THAT'S RIGHT DEAD DEAD DEAD YOU'RE DEAD YOU SUNUVABITCH SEE HOW YOUR INNARDS DECORATE MY PALMS! …Now my mommy won't be mad at me! *cute smile*

Be appeased, crazy.

FINALLY posted all the fruits of the 100 Themes (in 100 Days) Challenge I did last year! With a few notable exceptions. I could not think of anything at all for "Rated," so I skipped it. (Only one I skipped! I was wracking my brains all friggin' day and came up with nothing! That theme made no sense!) I couldn't think of anything appropriate for "Mischief Managed" other than terrible Harry Potter fan fiction or "An Afternoon Break," which I'd already written, so I didn't re-post that. (I also didn't rewrite it, because it didn't really need an overhaul rewrite. So that was my other lazy day.) And I lost what I wrote for #56. I wrote it in a notebook that day because I didn't feel like sitting in front of my computer, and then at some point between moving out and breaking my ankle and having to move out again except with my mom packing for me because I couldn't get up the stairs to the apartment, I lost the notebook somewhere. I can't find it. So it's gone. It was called "Behind the Third Door," but I remember being distinctly dissatisfied with it, so I'm not all that upset that I lost it. I'd be much more upset to have lost some of the other stories. Anyway that's why I was stuck at #55 for so long—I had to wait to get my stuff out of storage to look for #56, and then I couldn't find it anyway.

That'd be why I just deviation-spammed everyone with #57–#100 all at friggin' once.

But it's finally freaking posted! Over a year later and just in time for my start of the next writing challenge. Only I was smart enough not to make it a daily one this time, because some days you're just busy all damn day long until you realize it's like 11:30 and you only have half an hour left to write a story and you're drawing a blank and you have to be up early for work the next morning and WHY DID I MAKE MYSELF DO THIS. (Plus my parents were singularly unsympathetic; they saw it as a self-imposed rule, so I could break it if I felt like it and not worry about it. They didn't understand that this was like an exercise regimen for my brain and how disappointed and upset I would've been with myself if I'd started it and not finished it.)

Anyway yeah. I deviation-spammed everyone. Sorry. The best ones are on the Featured page in my gallery. Some of the ones that only got posted to the 100 Themes folder aren't worth reading; some are. Whatevs.

Hi everybody! So I uh... know I never finished posting the 100 Themes Challenge, but I swear I did actually complete it! In 100 days! With only two instances of blatant cheating. ("Mischief Managed" threw me for a loop, so I recycled "An Afternoon Break"; and "Rated" made less than no sense to me, so I chucked it.)

Anyway, it's been more than a year since that challenge now, and I'm ready for another one. But not another 100-day blitz. Dear God, not another 100-day blitz. Don't let me do that to myself again. No more short-distance races; I'm going for the marathon.

Instead, I'm going to start on something else I'll surely be asking you all to keep me from ever doing again in three to six months or so!

I wrote up what I'm calling "The Year of the Writer Challenge." It contains 52 writing prompts and themes, spaced across every single week for a whole year. It's designed so the order can be reshuffled for other years, but because some entries are tied to specific holidays or events, I ordered them for 2014. I also tried to space out the writing prompts, because they should be more time-consuming and challenging than the themes in most cases. I even included genre prompts like historical fiction and horror to challenge myself, because EFF how does anybody write those genres??? (Those weeks' entries will likely suck.)

If anyone else is interested, or just morbidly curious to see what I've done to myself this time, here's my list:

THE YEAR OF THE WRITER CHALLENGE, 2014

Yes, I'm posting this on DA in the hopes that more people knowing I intend to do this will force me to actually do it.

Life, Again

2 min read
I'm getting my life back in order a little bit. I think

My ankle is mostly healed. It still isn't very flexible and is sore by the end of the day, but physical therapy's going well. I should get the brace off in a week, and then all that will be left is the last of the PT.

I've been holed up in my parents' house since I broke my ankle. I'm finally out of the lease on my apartment, though I'm expecting another friggin' bill any day now (*siiiiiiigh*). The good news is that I'm going to move again this Saturday (hopefully for longer than six dang weeks this time), and finally get all my stuff out of storage (coat, how I missed thee!). One of my brothers bought a townhouse last month. When I move in five days, all three of us siblings will be living there. That'll be interesting. Probably good, but still... interesting. Yeah.

I'll have my scanner back. If I'm lucky, I'll even be able to track down my drawings! (That could... take a little longer.) I won't be scanning right away, though. The weekend will be devoted to rebuilding furniture and finding my stuff and setting up (and that'll be interesting too, since I couldn't get to my apartment when I had to pack it up—on account of the ankle and its being on the third floor—so my mom packed my apartment and I have no idea where anything is). And also grocery shopping, because having food to take to work is nice. Then my best friend is coming to town for Thanksgiving break, and my poor mom broke her right wrist just around when I was finally getting my ankle back, so I guess I'm also in charge of Thanksgiving dinner this year too (I should distribute digestive aids at the table). This to say I'll be busy for a bit.

But I do intend to scan again once I'm settled. Also post more of those stupid themes that I finished like a year ago already. (I'm stuck on one that I never typed out; it's in a notebook in storage and I can't get to it to post it.)

Dangit, life

2 min read
I have some stuff I forgot to scan last time, and I still need to post more writing, but life has once again put things indefinitely on hold.

My roommate is moving out, so I have to move back home, preferably before September so I don't have to pay another month's rent on top of the fee for breaking the lease.

And I just broke my ankle. I'm having surgery tomorrow.

I can't get up to my third floor apartment to pack, and this all happened basically at once, so nothing is already packed. I basically have to send my mom and anybody else I can get into my apartment to pack for me, which won't be weird at all.

And it's my right ankle, so I also won't be able to drive for two months or so. I'll have to get rides to work after I recover from the surgery.

This is just... well a lot at once. Life is attempting to kick me in the balls. I think I'll come out okay (I don't have balls, after all, so HA, life), but I'm going to be drugged up and miserably dependent on everyone around me for a while, so I might be... interesting to interact with.
